Here’s how you can enrol

Horizon-School-Snells-Beach-Primary-College-133.jpg

Learners from any area can enrol at Horizon School, as there is no zoning enforced as with state schools.

In fact we have children coming from as far south as Albany and Whangaparaoa, and children have come from as far north as Wellsford. Buses are available.

Horizon School has been primarily established to provide an environment for learning with a Christian foundation. The Ministry of Education requires that a high proportion of our learners are considered preference applicants because they come from homes that have past or present connection to the Christian faith.

 What is the enrolment process?

Step 1

Book a Tour & Try Day! Once learners visit our friendly environment, they often want to stay. Click the link, provide your details, and complete the pre-enrolment form after email confirmation to meet policy requirements.

Step 2

After the Tour & Try Day and if you’ve received an offer of placement, complete all full enrolment forms for the student. This will help us get all their details correct and get them ready to start with us at Horizon!

 School Costs

Compulsory Costs

State integrated schools like Horizon School provide an inclusive and cohesive community with shared values. The resulting sense of belonging is the foundation for learners to take risks in their learning with confidence. Achievement in state integrated schools is, therefore, typically higher than many private or state schools. We believe Horizon to be an investment in your child’s wellbeing and achievement, and great value.

Stationery, uniforms and camp costs are additional compulsory costs.

Attendance Dues 2023–2024

Horizon is a state integrated school of whom NZ Christian Proprietors Trust (NZCPT) are the Proprietor. Attendance Dues are a compulsory payment approved by the Minister of Education under the terms of the Education and Training Act 2020 and are a condition of enrolment. NZCPT are responsible for billing each quarter in January, April, July and October and collecting the attendance by direct debit. NZCPT then distribute these funds to KingsWay Trust in rental payments for the use of maintaining the school land and buildings.

School Donations

Horizon School asks you to invest in your child’s future through making a valuable contribution by way of your Parent Donation to the School. Much of the equipment and resources we provide here at Horizon are not covered by government funding. We rely heavily on the generosity of our parent community to provide the exceptional level of education and allow us to increase the range of experiences provided at Horizon School. The Parent Donation is classed as a voluntary donation and is tax deductible.
